      <image:caption>Yoga is a unique form of exercise which uses breath work, movement of the body and stillness of the mind to bring about a deep sense of body-mind balance. Yoga not only strengthens, stretches and stabilises the physical body but also has a powerful effect on calming and focusing a busy mind. At Uthana Yoga the aim is to serve the wider community by providing classes that cater for all ages and abilities. Classes follow Veda Yoga methodology to bring a practice which incorporates Hatha Yoga (to align and calm your mind, body and spirit) and Vinyasa Yoga (repeated series of poses involving increasing body heat and building strength). Meditation and Pranayama (breathing practices) are included in all classes. Classes are adapted to cater for the student’s needs and abilities and are adjusted according to daily and seasonal timing of the class. Yoga at Uthana is relaxed, friendly and all students are encouraged to work at their own pace and ability. We are all unique and must work according to our own personal needs and level.</image:caption>

When we are ready to leave our earthly body, again, it is the hearing that is the last of the senses to go. For thousands of years, ancient tribes, religions and civilisations have used sound as part of their sacred and spiritual practices. Rhythms, melodies, timbres, vibrations and beats have been used to increase awareness, expand meditation practices and deepen our connection to source of creation. So what is a Sound Bath? A sound bath is a body/mind listening experience which allows us to be deeply immersed or “bathed” into a variety of soothing, relaxing and potentially self-healing sounds. It is truly a deeply relaxing and balancing experience for Body-Mind-Soul. It is a practice I revel in and often remember… and regularly forget! I do however, rejoice in that each day and every moment provides an opportunity to learn, grow and is a gift of deeper true knowledge and understanding. Through a healthy approach to body, mind and soul I am sincere, passionate and dedicated to bringing about people’s true state of happiness. My long time interest and passion for natural health alternatives drew me to study and practice Ayurveda, Yoga and Reiki. I work with clients in one-on-one and group sessions, empowering them to walk a path of happiness, health, vitality and purpose. Following 20 years in the teaching profession, amidst three beautiful children and a difficult breast cancer experience, I find myself feeling the best I ever have.  This is why I would like to share with you my continued learning about two of the oldest holistic health sciences – Yoga and Ayurveda. If we attain and maintain alignment of mind, body and soul, I truly believe that every one of us can live our life of full potential, in a state of balance, happiness and good health.</image:caption>
